A love, a light, a world so bright.

Music, art, dance, nature, intrigue.

Sometimes, we’d give each other a certain look. We’d known each other long enough to know what it meant, that look. When one of us gave the other that look, whatever we were doing at our respective desks, we’d put down whatever it was, leaving sentences unfinished and accounts uncalculated, and lie on the cold leather sofa side by side. Just to be together.
It was never about lust or desire; it was just the need for intimacy, to be close to one another. We’d lie there, legs tangled, body heat warming up the surface of the sofa gradually, sometimes looking at each other, thinking. Sometimes we’d whisper conversations, but mostly we didn’t. We’d lie together just to remind ourselves of the connection we’d always shared, even before we’d become a ‘real’ couple. The embrace always relaxed us, centred us, and reminded us of what we had.
And every time, all it took was that certain look.
